Compliance Manager - Mortgage Industry Experience Required

About the Role

Loan Factory is seeking an experienced and strategic Compliance Manager to lead and enhance the company’s compliance framework across all mortgage operations.

This role will oversee the Compliance Management System (CMS) and partner closely with executive leadership to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate brings deep regulatory expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive, technology-forward mindset to modernize compliance through automation and AI.


Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Program Leadership

  • Lead and manage the company’s Compliance Management System (CMS)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

2. Regulatory Oversight & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage regulations, including oversight from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other agencies
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes; implement timely operational updates
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across lending operations

3. Examinations, Audits & Licensing

  • Lead and manage regulatory examinations, audits, and internal reviews
  • Oversee state licensing requirements and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintain audit readiness and coordinate responses with regulators and auditors

4. Advisory & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Provide compliance guidance and strategic input to executive leadership and business units
  • Partner with operations, underwriting, and sales teams to ensure compliant processes
  • Support new product launches and initiatives with compliance review and approval

5. Training & Culture

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs across the organization
  • Promote a culture of compliance awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for compliance-related inquiries

6. Systems, Automation & AI Enablement

  • Drive implementation and optimization of compliance systems and monitoring tools
  • Enhance reporting, tracking, and documentation processes through automation
  • Partner with technology teams to integrate AI-driven compliance monitoring, risk detection, and audit support tools
  • Improve efficiency and scalability of compliance operations through digital transformation

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of compliance experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. mortgage regulations and lending practices
  • Experience managing compliance programs, audits, and regulatory examinations
  • Experience with multi-state mortgage lending compliance
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to partner with executive teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Technology & AI Proficiency (Required)

  • Strong proficiency with compliance systems, regulatory tracking tools, and digital workflows
  • Experience using or willingness to adopt AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, compliance automation platforms, document review AI)
  • Ability to leverage AI for policy analysis, regulatory monitoring, audit preparation, and reporting efficiency
  • Experience implementing or working with automated compliance monitoring systems is highly preferred
  • High adaptability to evolving regulatory technology and digital transformation initiatives

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year + performance bonus
  • Equity: Restricted Stock Units (RSU) for long-term incentive alignment
